Always wanted a big twin, and the Dyna was the upgrade from my Sportster Affordable and good looking, sounds great too. None of my “friends” has any interest in motorcycles. I’ve lost a few potential girlfriends because they had zero interest in, or worse, loathed motorcycles. Manufacturers push the social aspect of bikes but the fact is that bikes are often a solitary activity.

Im 39 and have put over 200k miles on motorcycles since I was 19. You know how many millenials Ive ran into while touring? Ive met a whole lot of people older than me, and none younger. It think younger folks mostly type about riding, and talk about riding. Just try and buy a used bike. 99.9% are liars. Love my KTM 2 stroke. Love Honda V4's, Yamaha R1's, Buell XB12's and I love slinging my Harley around corners.

Sales down 50% is far worse than it looks when you consider that their competition from Japan is mostly out of the game. Honda is out of the game, except for a 750cc bike. Yamaha exited the cruiser market too. You would think that all those Honda and Yamaha buyers would have migrated to Harley. But apparently, those Japanese cruiser buyers evaporated, or went to a different style of bike.

I have not ever seen one but it does look nice. I have a RE650 Interceptor that I ride around town for general transportation. It's the only one in town and draws some attention from curious folks that like it.

I tour on a BMW K1600B. It is fast, comfortable, relatively nimble for its size and does very well in bad weather including high winds.

Because Honda is far superior. If I wanted an American bike, I’d go with an Indian.

No but automatic bikes are nice for in cities. Now living in Asia I have a big bike for weekend fun and a nice 150 "scooter" for around town.

I ride a drz400 and as much as i like it it really is a bit too big for most of the trails i ride on routinely. It can go anywhere but these bikes being a bit smaller are able to be really riddin on the local trails, not just ridden there, if that makes any sense

You’re the best commentator for Shotgun. I have watched the rest (Kate, Freddie, who is good, Begley, Stuart, MCN, etc.). However, I don’t see how you pick the Interceptor over the Shotgun. The former has more air turbulence at >60 mph, and doesn’t have the cool rear seat thing going. For style, commuting, and touring, I’d hands down go with the Shotgun.

Hi from Portugal, I have a T7 great bike but since I am doing all the time or must of time using for traveling on offroad I am consider to sell and maybe buy a Kove Rally. I do belive is best of two worlds and maybe what I need is more dual sport world than Adventure like T7 (206kg plus acessories). To be honest is a bit of a dilema for me, also I was consider to do what you did to have 2 bike like T7 and WR... Also I owen FJR and Vmax 1700 for these reason only use mostly T7 on Dirty road. You have different opinion or you think maybe I should get a someting lither like Kove Rally and also able to travel?

I'm 60 years old and right at the very end of the baby boomer generation. I'm not a very big guy at only 5 ft 7 and due to arthritis it's harder for me to ride a big bike. I used to have a big twin, but I was younger then. I've been thinking about getting a smaller bike like a Sportster. Even an 883 fits me very well. But I am getting tired of hearing my old friends tell me that I'm turning into a woman because I would like to ride a sporty. Look, people, it doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you are in the Wind

New Harleys are ugly. I can get a Vintage Harley with a great custom Paint job and accessories for half the price or less. Harleys last and the market is flooded with cool custom jobs.

I watched those adventure bikes go by me at The Dragon Tail, and those guys lay down further then the sport bike riders, meaning they go by them too. There's always a pull-over in the hairpin curve, and that's where I watch from. Don't be rude, and make those faster riding bikes sniff your exhaust. ;) I ride a cruiser with bags. And I don't think my 1500cc cruiser fits the bagger category. That trunk and queen seat keeps down on the twisty's. Not me.

A few years back I borrowed a Street Glide from a family member that lives on the West Coast to ride up and down the Pacific Coast Highway. It was a 'free bike' and saved me a tidy sum compared to having to rent a bike to do the trip. Was my first experience ever on a a HD and my opinion was... IT WAS AMAZING! Loved it! OMG, that bike was made for that type of riding and I'll always have fond memories of that ride and that bike. Now, the question is based on that extremely positive experience would I now go out and buy a HD? HELL NO! Not a chance. The thought wouldn't even enter my mind. - First, the price. A Street Glide in my country starts (STARTS!) at over $30,000.- The closest dealer to me which is about an hour away won't even put prices on their webpage or give them over the phone, you have to go in in person. That tells me they're going to stick a whole bunch of expensive nonsense and BS on the price and have me bend over and accept it. Not. Gonna. Happen. - Second, most HD riders in my area are a-holes with the loudest pipes they can find and all they do is gun the hell out of their engines as they ride out of the neighborhoods. Sorry small-pee-pee redneck, no one wants to hear that. - Third, I'm definitely not the youngest or the most lean guy out there but I'm also not a fat old fart, I just don't identify with the typical HD rider. - I don't want to be 'in a cult'. If I go out and buy a new bike I just want to go out and ride. I don't need to be your friend because you have the same brand. I don't need to identify with the T-shirt or belt buckle or black and orange leather jacket and blah blah blah crowd who need to advertise to everyone they are 'a biker'. Hey everyone, look at me, I'm a special unique individual just like this guy, and that guy, and oh, same with the other dude over there. - I don't cosplay a tuff guy on the weekends. No, I'm not going to dress up and pretend to be in a bike gang and take my bike out (as long as the weather is nice) on a Sunday afternoon and meet up with my other pretend tuff guy friends for a fifteen minute ride to the suburban plaza for a beer and eats on a Boston Pizza patio, timing it before it gets late and come home before the streetlights come on. Nope to all of that. If I go out and get a new bike, it's going to be a more reliable Japanese bike at a fraction of the HD price, without all the added HD buying process/scam/gouge/shenanigans and the chunk of money I've saved is going to buy me some maps and hotel/campground stays as I rack up the miles.

I can tell you first hand that Harley Davidson is the opposite of a premium brand. Bought my first brand new Harley in 2022 and have had nothing but problems out of it. Needless to say I was not impressed and I’ll never purchase another new Harley!

I mean Harley-Davidson isn't using (more like wasn't up to nowdays) Chinese slave labor to make theyre bikes cheaper unlike other manufacturers but they noticed people don't give a shit so theyre starting to do the same cuz if this is what they deserve they're not gonna take em away so yeah they'll soon drop in price quite alot in a few years

heh, I want to "upgrade" to one of the new NX500's so I can properly tour on it. I hear they also eat a bit of oil so as long as I top it up every 1000km, should be fine!

I bought my Indian Challenger Dark Horse last year after comparing it with the Road Glide. Saved significant amount of money for a much better appointed and more powerful bike, and love riding it!

In 2017, I went to buy a Harley, and the service I received made me walk out of the store and go over to Kawasaki... they acted like they were doing me a favor... I love my Vaquero, never been happier...

I own a 2017...Only con with the VV1700 is it doesn't come in all the bells and whistle, and each years model only comes in one color... other than that, the bike is perfect....8.5 outta 10

people are more afraid because life is easier than ever and they have a lot of free time to sit and think and ruminate about things. Its not uncommon to work from home or to have days on end with no responsibility, no work, nothing to do, which leads to overanalyzing every little detail of life, which is a recipe for anxiety and depression. Its why people go to therapy for 5, 10, 15 years and they still have mental health issues, they over-ruminate things, things never go away if you keep a spotlight on them.

Harley like Boeing have priced their old technology out of the market, like the British and Italian bikes they were never as reliable as the Japanese ones.
